Regular Season Round 6: M.Haifa - E.Shomron 77-78

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked E.Shomron (2-4) edged on the road 9th ranked M.Haifa (2-4) 78-77 on Wednesday. They outrebounded M.Haifa 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. E.Shomron looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Naturalized Polish center Ido Flaisher (208-1998, college: Hawaii) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Raijon Kelly (193-1993, college: Angelo St.) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Admon Gilder (193-1995, college: Gonzaga) with 24 points and his fellow American import forward DeSean Parsons (201-1995, college: Portland St.) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five E.Shomron and four M.Haifa players scored in double figures. M.Haifa's coach Offer Rahimi tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. E.Shomron moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated M.Haifa. E.Shomron will meet at home Ramat Hash. (#13) in the next round. M.Haifa will play against Maccabi Rishon (#3) in Rishon Le-Zion and hope to secure a win.
