Another exciting game for Athena (3-7) which played in Reykjavik against 4th ranked KR (6-5). Seventh ranked Athena won 75-68. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 31-27 KR's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 75-68 at the end of the game. Athena forced 19 KR turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Cierra Johnson (178-1998, college: Alabama) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 8 rebounds and forward Elektra Kubrzeniecka (185-2005) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Violet Morrow (176-1997, college: EWU, agency: Interperformances) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Hulda Bergsteinsdottir (180-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Athena maintains seventh position with 3-7 record. KR lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Hamar. Athena will play against bottom-ranked Breidablik B (#9) in Kopavogur in the next round. KR will have a break next round.
