Very important is a road loss of second ranked Breidablik (5-2) against eighth ranked Tindastoll (4-3) on Thursday night. Visiting Breidablik was crushed by Tindastoll in Sauoarkrokur 110-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Breidablik. The game was mostly controlled by Tindastoll. Breidablik was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tindastoll dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Breidablik's 30. They outrebounded Breidablik 53-23 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tindastoll players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Breidablik's players. It was an exceptional evening for American Keyshawn Woods (192-1996, college: Ohio St.) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Lithuanian center Adomas Drungilas (207-1990) accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Angolan-Spanish forward Julio De Assis (203-1992) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Danero Thomas (194-1986, college: Murray St.) added 11 points respectively for Breidablik in the defeat. Five Tindastoll and four Breidablik players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tindastoll. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Haukar and Stjarnan. Breidablik at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Keflavik and Njardvik. Tindastoll will play against Haukar (#6) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round. Breidablik will play at home against Stjarnan (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
