Regular Season Round 9: Spojnia - Czarni 83-69

Not a big story in a game in Stargard where 12th ranked Czarni (3-6) was defeated by seventh ranked Spojnia (5-4) 83-69 on Saturday. Spojnia forced 19 Czarni turnovers. The best player for the winners was American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-1988, college: Arkansas) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 10 assists. His fellow American import Jordan Mathews (191-1994, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 13 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward David DiLeo (201-1997, college: CMU) who recorded 24 points and 5 steals and the former international power forward Mikolaj Witlinski (207-1995) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Spojnia moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Zastal and Legia. Czarni lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with Start. Spojnia will meet at home higher ranked Stal (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Czarni will play against Twarde Pierniki (#16) and hope to secure a win.
