Very predictable result in Las Palmas where second ranked Gran Canaria (7-2) defeated 15th ranked Manresa (2-7) 99-88 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Argentinian Nicolas Brussino (205-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. French power forward Damien Inglis (204-1995) chipped in 7 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jerrick Harding (185-1998, college: Weber St.) who recorded 23 points and Polish Adam Waczynski (199-1989) added 19 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gran Canaria have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-2 record behind leader Tenerife, which they share with Real Madrid and Barca. Loser Manresa keeps the fifteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Zaragoza and Girona. Gran Canaria will meet Bilbao (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
