Regular Season Round 9: Mataro UE - Agora Portals 114-67

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Mataro UE (7-2) outleveled at home bottom-ranked Agora Portals (0-9) 114-67 on Saturday. Mataro UE dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Agora Portals' 54. Mataro UE forced 22 Agora Portals turnovers and outrebounded them 41-24 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mataro UE looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Agora Portals' players. Forward Jordi Juanola (196-1998) stepped up and scored 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and naturalized Gambian forward Omaru Toure (199-1994) chipped in 14 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Four Mataro UE players scored in double figures. Mataro UE's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was point guard Alberto Jarillo (180-2000) with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and center Michael Ogunsuyi (200-2006) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Mataro UE moved-up to second place, which they share with Vic. Agora Portals lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Jorge Juan. Mataro UE will meet Alfinden (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Agora Portals will play against Castelldefels (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
