Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Barcelona: Segle XXI (#5) and Maresme (#1). Segle XXI (6-3) won against visiting Maresme (12-5) 70-55. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Maresme. Segle XXI forced 23 Maresme turnovers. Laia Conesa (173-2005) stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and point guard Iyana Martin (172-2006) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists. Segle XXI's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Laia Soler (185-2001, college: Boise St.) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Paula Curto (175-1997) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Segle XXI moved-up to third place, which they share with Cortegada. Maresme at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Segle XXI's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Barcelona to the arena Maresme.
