Regular Season Round 9: Azulejos - Martorell 66-70

There was a minor upset in Zaragoza where 10th ranked Azulejos (3-6) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Martorell (2-7) 70-66 on Saturday. Martorell forced 21 Azulejos turnovers. Guard Miquel Aliaga (189-1999) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and center Jordi Catalan (200-1990) chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four Martorell players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Mouhamed Diallo with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Carlos Blasco (192-1995) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Martorell moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Azulejos lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Martorell will meet at home higher ranked Girona B (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
