Very predictable result when third ranked Valls (6-3) edged at home 14th ranked Helios (1-8) 69-68 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Guard Raul Timoner (185-1997, college: Rio Grande) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Brazilian forward Marcus Vinicius (201-1986) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. Valls' coach used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Alejandro Quinteiro (-1999) with 20 points and Eduardo Ibanez (191-2003) scored 17 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Valls. They maintain third place with 6-3 record having just two points less than leader Llucmajor, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Helios keeps the fourteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Jovens. Valls will meet Igualada (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Helios will play against Pinta Castell and hope to win that game.
