Regular Season Round 8: ToPo Juniorit - Bisons 86-88

The most exciting game of round 8 in the 1st Division A took place in Helsinki. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th ranked ToPo Juniorit (5-3) to first ranked Bisons (7-1) 88-86 on Saturday evening. ToPo Juniorit cut a 18-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Bisons looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by ToPo Juniorit helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. French point guard Louis Rucklin (175-1999) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals. Guard Santeri Makkonen (195-2001) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Guard Leo Nordberg (185-2004) replied with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Eldar Skamo (198-1986) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for ToPo Juniorit. Four ToPo Juniorit players scored in double figures. ToPo Juniorit's coach Turo Lehtonen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bisons have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. ToPo Juniorit at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Bisons are looking forward to face Oulun Bball (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ToPo Juniorit will play against the league's second-placed Jyvaskyla BA (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
