The biggest surprise of round 8 was guest Trento's (5-3) road victory over Venezia (#7) 73-72 on Saturday evening. Trento dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Venezia's 32. They outrebounded Venezia 44-33 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Latvian Andrejs Grazulis (202-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. International guard Matteo Spagnolo (193-2003) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Trento players scored in double figures. The former international guard Riccardo Moraschini (194-1991) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and American center Mitchell Watt (208-1989, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the hosts. Venezia's coach Walter De Raffaele tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Trento moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pesaro. Venezia at the other side keeps the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Brescia. Trento is looking forward to face Pesaro (#5) at home in the next round. Venezia will play against Brindisi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
