Regular Season Round 9: Unicaja-Andalucia - Novaschool 115-121

Everything could happen in Malaga at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Novaschool and 8th ranked Unicaja-Andalucia had identical 3-2 record. But Unicaja-Andalucia was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Malaga 121-115 on Saturday night. Novaschool outrebounded Unicaja-Andalucia 49-38 including 20 on the offensive glass. Oscar Diaz (190-2002) stepped up and scored 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and center Chema del Rio (203-1991) chipped in 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was point guard Alvaro Mena (184-2005) with 28 points and 7 steals and point guard Hugo Vazquez (183) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Four Novaschool and five Unicaja-Andalucia players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Novaschool. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Unicaja-Andalucia dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Novaschool will meet at home CAM E.Soler 2 (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Unicaja-Andalucia will play against Oh!Tels ULB (#3) in La Linea and hope to secure a win.
