Regular Season Round 12: Kauhajoki - Kobrat 95-61

The biggest surprise took place in Kauhajoki where host Kauhajoki (9-2) crushed league's leader Kobrat (9-3) 95-61 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kobrat. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Kauhajoki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kauhajoki outrebounded Kobrat 44-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Lee Skinner (198-1992, college: Wofford) who scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Daniel Dolenc (205-1993, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Kauhajoki's coach Janne Koskimies felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Danny Pippen (206-1997, college: Kent St.) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Denzel Livingston (193-1993, college: UIW) added 17 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Kauhajoki have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Kobrat at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Kauhajoki. Kobrat will play next round against Pyrinto trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kauhajoki will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Vilpas in Salo.
