Very predictable result in Opole where eleventh ranked AZS PO (6-6) smashed bottom-ranked Start 2 (1-11) 128-73 on Saturday. AZS PO forced 23 Start 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 49-26 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Start 2's players. The best player for the winners was guard Michal Kroczak (190-2000) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Marcel Kapuscinski (202-1997) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Wojciech Nojszewski (196-2003) who recorded 19 points and Norbert Ziolko (189-1999) added 19 points respectively. Five AZS PO and four Start 2 players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS PO have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Start 2 lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. AZS PO will meet higher ranked Gornik (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Start 2 will play against Polonia (#13) and hope to win that game.
