Regular Season Round 12: Gomel - Grodno 67-95

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Gomel (0-13) was crushed at home by second ranked Grodno (8-4) 95-67 on Saturday. Grodno outrebounded Gomel 54-24 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Gomel's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Tsimur Drukau (198-1999) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and Serbian guard Dusan Majstorovic (196-1995, college: Maine) who added 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was Russian center Mikhail Pakhryaev (206-2000) with 10 points and 8 rebounds and guard Denis Yarets (188-1989) scored 14 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno maintains second position with 8-4 record having five points less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk U20. Loser Gomel still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Grodno will meet at home Tsmoki II (#5) in the next round. Gomel will play against Impuls BGUIR in Minsk and hopes to get finally their first victory.
