There was no surprise in Madrid where 11th ranked Pinto Basket (2-5) was crushed by sixth ranked Estudiantes B (4-3) 103-74 on Saturday. Estudiantes B outrebounded Pinto Basket 45-27 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Pinto Basket's players. Jaime Perez (200) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Argentinian power forward Santiago Trouet (205-2004) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Estudiantes B players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Alberto Lopez with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Marcos Taeno scored 11 points and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Estudiantes B moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 10 other teams. Newly promoted Pinto Basket dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Guimar. Estudiantes B's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena BT Madrid.
