Regular Season Round 12: Kotka - Kouvot 99-95

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Kotka (7-5) defeated at home 8th ranked Kouvot (5-6) 99-95 on Saturday. Strangely Kouvot outrebounded Kotka 43-31 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Brandon Sly (180-1996, college: ASU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 assists and guard Brandon Tabb (193-1995, college: BCU) who added 17 points during the contest. Tabb is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kotka players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Deshon Taylor (188-1996, college: Fresno St.) with 30 points and guard Austin Butler (196, college: Charlotte) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Kotka moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kataja. Loser Kouvot keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Kotka will meet Kataja (#5) in the next round. Kouvot will play against Lahti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
