Regular Season Round 10: LKS Lodz - Pol.Gdansk 41-66

Very expected game when 11th ranked LKS Lodz (1-8) was smashed at home by third ranked Pol.Gdansk (8-2) 66-41 on Saturday. Pol.Gdansk dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to LKS Lodz's 24. Pol.Gdansk forced 20 LKS Lodz turnovers and outrebounded them 53-35 including a 24-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Julia Wilbik (182-2004) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Dominika Ullmann (170-2005) supported her with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by swingman Angelika Kowalska (179-1992) did not help to save the game for LKS Lodz. Marta Kawczynska (169-1999) added 7 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pol.Gdansk moved-up to second place. LKS Lodz lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Lomianki. Pol.Gdansk will meet at home league's leader Sokolow P. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. LKS Lodz will play against Lomianki (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
