Regular Season Round 7: M.Tel-Aviv - H.Jerusalem 75-80

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Maccabi Tel-Aviv (5-1) in Tel Aviv on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (5-2) 80-75. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Hapoel Jerusalem shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Kenneth Smith (190-1993, college: Louisiana Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Trinidad and Tobago-American Khadeen Carrington (193-1995, college: Seton Hall) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American Jarell Martin (208-1994, college: LSU) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Wade Baldwin IV (193-1996, college: Vanderbilt) added 15 points in the effort for Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Jerusalem have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Maccabi Tel-Aviv at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with H.Tel-Aviv. Hapoel Jerusalem are looking forward to face E.Kiryat Ata (#7) at home in the next round. Maccabi Tel-Aviv will play against Hapoel Beer Sheva (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
