The game had a very big importance for third-ranked ASVEL as it allowed them to take a leadership position. ASVEL smashed 7th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez in Villeurbanne 94-74. ASVEL made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while Pau-Lacq-Orthez only scored two points from the stripe. ASVEL looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Pau-Lacq-Orthez's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Danish-Israeli point guard Noam Yaacov (186-2004) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Guard Noah Manet (194-2004) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four ASVEL players scored in double figures. Swingman Matthieu Vigneron (198-2002) replied with 29 points and 7 rebounds and Fallou Dieng (205-2002) added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Cholet and Roanne. Pau-Lacq-Orthez at the other side keeps the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Le Mans. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play next round against Nanterre trying to get back on the winning streak. ASVEL will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Limoges CSP on the road.
