Everything went according to plan in Sevilla where fourth ranked Real Madrid (7-2) beat bottom-ranked Real Betis (1-8) 73-55 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was naturalized Cape Verdean center Walter Tavares (220-1992) who scored 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Croatian Mario Hezonja (202-1995) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian point guard Aleksandar Cvetkovic (188-1993, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 9 points and Senegalese power forward Amar Sylla (206-2001) added 4 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Barca and Gran Canaria. Real Betis lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Real Madrid will meet at home Valencia (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Real Betis will play against Granada (#7) and hope to win that game.
