There was a minor upset in Montecatini where 9th ranked Gallarate (4-5) was defeated by twelfth ranked Valdinievole (4-5) 87-72 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was center Antonio Lorenzetti (196-1995) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Daniele DellUomo (189-1998) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Valdinievole players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Dominican guard Shaquille Hidalgo (188-1994) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Andrea Filippi (197-1997) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valdinievole moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Gallarate. Valdinievole will meet Borgomanero (#12) on the road in the next round. Gallarate will play against Montecatiniterme (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
