Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Broni (5-3) beat at home 13th ranked Alpo (1-7) 61-52 on Sunday. They outrebounded Alpo 44-25 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Swedish forward Amanda Kantzy (186-1996, college: Albany) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Ilaria Bonvecchio (172-1994) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Broni players scored in double figures. Broni's coach Michael Magagnoli used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Elisa Mancinelli (177-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and guard Ilaria Moriconi (165-2000) added 10 points respectively for the guests. Broni moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Battipaglia and Mantova. Alpo lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Cagliari. Broni will meet at home Bolzano BC (#8) in the next round. Alpo will play against Vicenza (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
