No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Rivas (5-3) crushed 12th ranked SBA (1-7) in Madrid 94-40 on Wednesday. Rivas held SBA to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 52.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Rivas forced 20 SBA turnovers and outrebounded them 49-25 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by SBA's players. Power forward Sharif Idris (204-1999) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Alberto Torres (201-1998, college: Iowa Wesleyan) supported him with 21 points. Rivas' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points by Pablo Lopez (195-1997) did not help to save the game for SBA. Forward Adrian Nosa-Casitillo (196-2000, college: Richland CC) added 8 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Rivas moved-up to third place, which they share with 8 other teams. Newly promoted SBA dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Estudio. Rivas will meet at home Alcala (#7) in the next round. SBA will play against Aridane (#9) in Los Llanos and hope to win that game.
