Regular Season Round 7: Banovici - Duga 56-77

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Bosnian Banovici (2-5) was crushed at home by third ranked Serbian Duga (4-3) 77-56 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 48-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Duga forced 19 Banovici turnovers. It was a great evening for Bosnian point guard Helena Kovacevic (174-2003, agency: BeoBasket) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Center Tijana Jelic (191-1999, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Duga players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Aaliyah Dunham (165-1999, college: Marshall) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and forward Maida Lacic (174-1989) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Duga maintains third place with 4-3 record having just three points less than leader Vojvodina 021. Banovici lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
