LF Endesa top team - Zaragoza (7-2) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Cadi La Seu (3-6) 65-61. They outrebounded Cadi La Seu 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by guard Mariona Ortiz (183-1992) who scored that evening 15 points and 6 rebounds and Belgian center Serena-Lynn Geldof (197-1997, college: Miami, FL) supported her with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds by Latvian forward Paula Strautmane (185-1997, college: Quinnipiac) did not help to save the game for Cadi La Seu. Guard Laia Raventos (170-1997, college: Charlotte) added 13 points for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Zaragoza maintains first position with 7-2 record. Loser Cadi La Seu dropped to the thirteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Gran Canaria and Jairis. Zaragoza will meet Araski (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Cadi La Seu will play against Valencia (#5) and hope to secure a win.
