Regular Season Round 8: IDK Eustotren - Ensino 60-69

There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Ensino (4-5) beat higher ranked IDK Eustotren (4-5) in San Sebastian 69-60 on Thursday. Ensino dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to IDK Eustotren's 22 and made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded IDK Eustotren 42-26 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international forward Paula Ginzo (187-1998) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and guard Alba Prieto (180-1999, college: S.Florida) supported her with 16 points and 4 assists. Ensino's coach Antonio Pernas used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by Mali center Mariam Coulibaly (192-1997, agency: Areus Sports) did not help to save the game for IDK Eustotren. Swingman Maria Espana (180-1992) added 12 points and 4 steals for the hosts. Ensino moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated IDK Eustotren. IDK Eustotren lost third consecutive game. Ensino will meet at home Leganes (#10) in the next round. IDK Eustotren will play against Barca CBS in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
