Regular Season Round 8: Breidablik - Stjarnan 101-90

Everything could happen in Kopavogur at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Breidablik and 8th ranked Stjarnan had identical 4-2 record. This time Breidablik used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Stjarnan 101-90 on Friday night. The game without a history. Breidablik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Everage Richardson (191-1985, college: Coastal) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the other American import guard Jeremy Smith (190-1991, college: Nicholls St.) who added 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American point guard Robert Turner III (190-1993, college: Texas Tech, agency: Interperformances) responded with 40 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Hlynur Baeringsson (199-1982, agency: IceBasket) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Five Breidablik and four Stjarnan players scored in double figures. Breidablik have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Breidablik went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Keflavik. Loser Stjarnan dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Breidablik will meet Grindavik (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Stjarnan will play against Haukar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
