Rather expected game in Kouvola where 8th ranked Kouvottaret (4-8) was crushed by sixth ranked Vimpelin Veto (6-6) 96-75 on Friday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was power forward Kristina King (190-1995, college: WVU) who scored 31 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Tynice Martin (180-1997, college: WVU) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Nikki McDonald (183-1996, college: Georgia South) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Tierra Hodges (175-1998, college: Furman) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Kouvottaret's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Vimpelin Veto moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pyrinto and Honka. Loser Kouvottaret keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with HBA-Marsky. Vimpelin Veto will meet at home Forssan Alku (#7) in the next round.
