Very important is a road loss of second ranked Cholet Basket (8-2) against eleventh ranked Chorale de Roanne (5-6) on Friday night. Visiting Cholet Basket was crushed by Chorale de Roanne in Roanne 98-72. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Cholet Basket. Chorale de Roanne forced 19 Cholet Basket turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chorale de Roanne made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American swingman Ronald March (196-1993, college: Philander Smith) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import point guard Stefan Moody (179-1993, college: Ole Miss) helped adding 19 points and 8 assists. March is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Chorale de Roanne players scored in double figures. Boris Dallo (196-1994) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Dominic Artis (192-1993, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 17 points. Cholet Basket's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chorale de Roanne. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Blois and Nanterre. Loser Cholet Basket dropped to the third position with two games lost. Chorale de Roanne will meet at home higher ranked Limoges CSP Elite (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cholet Basket will play against Le Portel and hope to secure a win.
