There was no surprise when 18th ranked Le Portel (2-9) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked SIG Strasbourg (4-7) 80-74 on Friday. SIG Strasbourg dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Le Portel's 32. It was a great evening for American forward Matt Mitchell (198-1999, college: SDSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points. Forward Leopold Cavaliere (203-1996) helped adding 14 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Algerian guard Nadir Hifi (190-2002) responded with 32 points and 4 assists and American forward Terry Allen (203-1993, college: Richmond, agency: One Motive Sports) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Le Portel's coach Eric Girard rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for SIG Strasbourg. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Le Portel lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost.
