Regular Season Round 9: HBA-Marsky - Kristika Turku 90-79

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked HBA-Marsky's (3-5) home victory over 10th ranked Kristika Turku (2-7) 90-79 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by HBA-Marsky. Kristika Turku managed to win second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Kristika Turku 41-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. HBA-Marsky looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was center Olavi Suutela (201-2006) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Erik Muhonen (199-2004) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Joona Airenne (200) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Ville Hanninen (193-1995) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Five HBA-Marsky and four Kristika Turku players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. HBA-Marsky maintains ninth place with 3-5 record. Kristika Turku lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. HBA-Marsky's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena ToPo Juniorit.
