Regular Season Round 9: Coruna - Alicante 86-69

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Alicante (5-4) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Coruna (5-4) 86-69 on Friday. Coruna forced 21 Alicante turnovers. Nigerian-American power forward Lotanna Nwogbo (205-1993, college: Longwood) stepped up and scored 14 points for the winners and swingman Aleix Font (195-1998) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Coruna players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Sean McDonnell (203-1995, college: Westmont, agency: Helping Ballers) with 15 points and power forward Eduard Gatell (206-1989) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Coruna moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Alicante. Coruna will meet league's second-placed Andorra on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alicante will play against Melilla (#12) and hope to secure a win.
