Rather expected game when 7th ranked Xiria (4-5) was smashed by fourth ranked Gijon (7-2) in Carballo 92-70 on Saturday. Gijon forced 19 Xiria turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Bosnian Sandro Gacic (201-1996) notched 27 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Alex Navas (199-2000) supported him with 18 points. Four Gijon players scored in double figures. Even 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists by guard Pau Isern (189-2001, agency: Promo Sport ID) did not help to save the game for Xiria. Forward Asier Comendeiro (196-1996) added 22 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gijon have an impressive five-game winning streak.
