Regular Season Round 12: Miedzychod - Gimbasket 87-73

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Gimbasket (1-11) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Miedzychod (12-0) 87-73 on Saturday. Miedzychod dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gimbasket's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Miedzychod made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Mariusz Malachowski (194-1985) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and swingman Jakub Nowak (186-1989) who added 11 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Miedzychod players scored in double figures. Miedzychod's coach Marcin Chodkiewicz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Pawel Galczynski (195-1998) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and forward Jakub Lewandowski (203-2001) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Miedzychod have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record, which they share with AZS AWF Mick. Gimbasket lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Gdynia GAK. Miedzychod will meet Gorzow (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gimbasket will play against the league's second-placed Katowice KS 27 and hope to win that game.
