Regular Season Round 6: Olimpi - Vera 84-79

No shocking result in a game in Tbilisi where fifth ranked Olimpi (3-2) defeated bottom-ranked Vera (1-5) 84-79 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Vera was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-14 charge of Olimpi, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Dru Kuxhausen (183-1998, college: N.Colorado) scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Linton Acliese III (198-1998, college: EWU) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Jamir Coleman (201, college: CCSU, agency: Haylett Sports) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Luka Zakradze (193-1996) scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Vera players scored in double figures. Vera's coach Davit Gasitashvili rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Rustavi. Loser Vera dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Mega. Olimpi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Mega.
