Regular Season Round 11: Limoges CSP - ASVEL 81-62

Very important is a road loss of second ranked ASVEL (8-3) against fourth ranked Limoges CSP (9-3) on Saturday night. Visiting ASVEL was crushed by Limoges CSP in Limoges 81-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ASVEL. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Limoges CSP dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to ASVEL's 32. They outrebounded ASVEL 51-32 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Limoges CSP players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by ASVEL's players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Hugo Desseignet (175-2003) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 15 assists. Mali forward Mohamed Sidibe (196-2002) accounted for 17 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side. Four Limoges CSP players scored in double figures. Limoges CSP's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Danish-Israeli point guard Noam Yaacov (186-2004) came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds and forward Mervyn Muamba (197-2005) added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively for ASVEL in the defeat. Limoges CSP have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Blois. ASVEL at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Levallois and Roanne. Limoges CSP will play against Gravelines (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ASVEL will play against Nanterre (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
