There was no surprise when 13th ranked Igualada (2-8) was outleveled at home by fourth ranked Valls (7-3) 88-67 on Saturday. Valls outrebounded Igualada 39-18 including a 32-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Valls especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Naturalized Brazilian forward Marcus Vinicius (201-1986) notched 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and guard Oriol Besora (182-1997) supported him with 22 points. Five Valls players scored in double figures. Even 9 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by guard Pol Mulio (192-2002) did not help to save the game for Igualada. Center Marc Bernadi (205-1993) added 14 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valls have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Igualada lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with Martorell and Estrada. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
