There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (5-8) was outscored on the road by twelfth ranked Tours (4-9) 96-68 on Saturday. Tours dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Lourdes-Tarbes' 32. They outrebounded Lourdes-Tarbes 33-21 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tours looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Swingman Pierre-Etienne Drouault (196-1990) nailed 18 points and 4 steals for the winning side and Central African power forward Johan Grebongo (203-1994) accounted for 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five Tours players scored in double figures. Naturalized Guyanese Mike Joseph (203-1994) came up with 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Tom Wiscart Goetz (188-1999) added 13 points respectively for Lourdes-Tarbes in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tours moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Les Sables. Loser Lourdes-Tarbes keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Besancon and Feurs CTC. Tours will meet at home league's second-placed Loon-Plage in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against Les Sables (#12) in Les Sables-D'Ollone and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
