Regular Season Round 9: HNMKY - Huima 79-88

There was a minor upset in Helsinki where 4th placed HNMKY (5-3) was defeated by sixth ranked Huima (5-3) 88-79 on Sunday. Huima forced 20 HNMKY turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Zach Naylor (203, college: Tarleton St.) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Deontaye Buskey (185, college: Charleston So.) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Huima players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Samuli Makela (178-1999) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds and center Henri Mennander (204-2003) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Huima. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated HNMKY. Huima will meet at home bottom-ranked Raiders Basket (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. HNMKY will play against Kouvot Ak. (#8) and hope to secure a win.
