Regular Season Round 10: Torta del Casar - Aljaraque 84-63

There was an upset when higher ranked Aljaraque (5-2) was outscored by eighth ranked Torta del Casar (4-3) in Caceres 84-63 on Sunday. Torta del Casar forced 19 Aljaraque turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including 18 on the offensive glass. Grenadian-Barbados forward Jehu Lafeuillee (203, college: IU East) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 24 rebounds to lead the effort and Eduardo Chacn supported him with 20 points (made all of his eight free throws). Four Torta del Casar players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 4 steals by point guard Pablo Martinez (185-1997) did not help to save the game for Aljaraque. Senegalese center Alioune Fall (205-1999) added 8 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Aljaraque's coach Jose Pedrote gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Torta del Casar moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 7 other teams. Newly promoted Aljaraque dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with CBSFDO and El Pinar. Torta del Casar will meet Real Betis 2 (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Aljaraque will play against Badajoz (#8) and hope to secure a win.
