There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Mantova (4-6) was edged on the road by eleventh ranked Chiusi (4-6) 62-59 on Sunday. Strangely Mantova outrebounded Chiusi 43-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Swingman Riccardo Bolpin (197-1997) notched 15 points to lead the effort and American-Nigerian guard Daniel Utomi (198-1997, college: USC) supported him with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Even 8 points and 20 rebounds by American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-1992, college: Ohio St.) did not help to save the game for Mantova. His fellow American import point guard Anthony Miles (184-1989, college: Lamar) added 11 points for lost side. Chiusi moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Mantova. Chiusi will meet higher ranked Forli (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mantova will play against Ravenna (#14) and hope to secure a win.
