Regular Season Round 7: Kangoeroes - Kortrijk Spurs 89-47
Date: December 4, 2022
There was no surprise in Mechelen where 7th ranked Kortrijk Spurs (3-4) were outplayed by leader Kangoeroes (6-0) 89-47 on Sunday. Kangoeroes made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Kortrijk Spurs turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Kortrijk Spurs' players. It was a great evening for American Morgan Bertsch (190-1997, college: UC Davis, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points. French point guard Lisa Berkani (176-1997, agency: Areus Sports) helped adding 11 points and 13 assists. Four Kangoeroes players scored in double figures. At the losing side Croatian Klaudia Perisa (180-1996) responded with 6 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Ine Joris (187-2001) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Kangoeroes. Defending champion maintains second place with 6-0 record behind leader Castors Braine. Loser Kortrijk Spurs keep the seventh position with four games lost. Kangoeroes are looking forward to face Spirou (#10) in Charleroi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kortrijk Spurs will play on the road against Lummen and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
