Regular Season Round 5: Toulouse - Hainaut 59-78

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Toulouse (2-3) was rolled over at home by tenth ranked Hainaut (2-3) 78-59 on Sunday. Hainaut dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Toulouse's 34. They outrebounded Toulouse 36-22 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hainaut looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian power forward Oderah Chidom (193-1995, college: Duke) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Croatian Iva Slonjsak (183-1997, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 19 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Joelly Belleka (170-1995) produced 13 points and 6 assists and Swedish guard Kalis Loyd (188-1989, college: Lamar) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Hainaut moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Toulouse. Toulouse lost third consecutive game. Hainaut will meet at home league's second-placed Villeneuve in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toulouse will play against the league's leader Lyon (#1) and hope to secure a win.
