Regular Season Round 14: Korihait - Kouvot 88-102

Very predictable result in Uusikaupunki where sixth ranked Kouvot (7-6) defeated bottom-ranked Korihait (2-11) 102-88. It looked good early as Korihait took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kouvot took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 14 points. They shot 60.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. American guard Deshon Taylor (188-1996, college: Fresno St.) notched 42 points (!!!) and 7 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Austin Butler (196, college: Charlotte) supported him with 27 points. Four Kouvot players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by American swingman Quin Cooper (197-1991, college: CRC, agency: One Motive Sports) did not help to save the game for Korihait. Power forward Mikael Aalto (205-1994) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Korihait's coach Tero Vasell rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kouvot moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kotka. Korihait lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Kouvot will play against Nokia (#7) at home in the next round. Korihait will play against Kotka (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
