Regular Season Round 13: Real Canoe - Ferrol 75-90

LF Challenge top team - Ferrol (12-1) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Real Canoe (5-8) in Madrid 90-75. They outrebounded Real Canoe 34-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. Ferrol shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Serbian guard Nevena Dimitrijevic (160-2000, college: SFC) stepped up and scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and Angela Mataix chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Four Ferrol players scored in double figures. At the losing side Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-1989, college: Towson) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Portuguese forward Mariana Silva (184-1999) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ferrol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-1 record. Real Canoe at the other side dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Picken Claret and Lima-Horta. Ferrol are looking forward to face Azkoitia (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Real Canoe will play against Celta Zorka (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
