Regular Season Round 12: Levice - Spisski Rytieri 98-76

The biggest surprise took place in Levice where host Levice (7-4) crushed league's leader Spisski Rytieri (8-4) 98-76 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Spisski Rytieri. Levice looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Spisski Rytieri's players. The best player for the winners was Slovenian guard Miha Lapornik (194-1993, agency: PEPI SPORT) who scored 27 points and 6 assists. American forward Tre McCallum (201-1995, college: DePaul) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Patrick McGlynn (188-1992, college: URI, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who recorded 18 points and 4 assists and international center Michal Fusek (223-1995, agency: 011 Sports) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five Levice and four Spisski Rytieri players scored in double figures. Spisski Rytieri's coach Teo Hojc gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains third position with 7-4 record behind leader Inter Bratislava. Spisski Rytieri at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Inter Bratislava who have the same record. Spisski Rytieri will play next round against Prievidza trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Levice will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Handlova on the road.
