Very predictable result when eighth ranked Alicante (6-4) won against at home 13th ranked Melilla (3-7) 77-60. They outrebounded Melilla 48-32 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Sean McDonnell (203-1995, college: Westmont, agency: Helping Ballers) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Eduard Gatell (206-1989) chipped in 4 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Senegalese center Bamba Fall (215-1986, college: SMU, agency: Players Group) responded with 16 points and point guard Javier Santana (190-1999) scored 9 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alicante moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Cantabria. Melilla lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Ourense and Caceres. Alicante will play against higher ranked Valladolid (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Melilla will play against the league's second-placed Andorra (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
