Regular Season Round 8: Lavovi - Orlovi 44-55

One of the most interesting games of round 8 was a derby match between two teams from Bosnia. The game took place in Brcko where third ranked Orlovi won against host Lavovi (1-6) 55-44. The game was mostly controlled by Orlovi. Lavovi was better in second period 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Orlovi won last quarter 19-9. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Lavovi to just 6 points in first quarter. Orlovi forced 23 Lavovi turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Gorana Kondic (169-1999) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian guard Marina Ristic (168-1987) who added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Montenegrin point guard Iva Karisik (175-2001) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian guard Milica Djokic (178-2005) scored 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Lavovi's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Orlovi maintains third position with 4-2 record having four points less than leader Celje. Lavovi at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Niksic. Orlovi will play against league's leader Celje at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lavovi will have a break next round.
