Regular Season Round 13: Olimpia - Victoria 101-34

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Grodno: Olimpia (#3) and Victoria (#5). Olimpia (10-1) crushed visiting Victoria (6-7) by 67 points 101-34. Olimpia held Victoria to an opponent 20.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Olimpia forced 28 Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 47-29 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Victoria's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Olimpia made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Nadzeya Nadzezhka (183-1987) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Palina Damianiak (190-2005) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Olimpia players scored in double figures. Olimpia's coach Viktoryia Datsun felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ksenia Gulida (-2006) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds and guard Karina Kurstak (170-2005) added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Victoria. Olimpia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Victoria at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Olimpia are looking forward to face BC Minsk (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Victoria will play against the league's leader Gorizont and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
